Nashville, TN (January 24, 2008) ---- One of Christian music’s most powerful male vocalists, Michael English, will release his first studio album in eight years, The Prodigal Comes Home, on February 26, 2008. The production crew for the CD features the biggest names in Christian and Country music with the majority of the project produced by Mark Miller (Sawyer Brown, Casting Crowns) and Dale Oliver (Bucky Covington). Additional producers include, Jay DeMarcus (Rascal Flatts), Bernie Herms (Natalie Grant, Casting Crowns), Matt Bronleewe (Jars of Clay, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman) and Shawn Shankel (Mandissa, Natalie Grant, Avalon).
“It felt so good to get back in the studio and I was thrilled to work with some of the greatest talent in the industry,” says English. “I feel so blessed that God’s grace is allowing me a second chance at my career after all of the struggles I have been through. I just want to lift my voice to the power of God so everyone will know that He redeems all of his faithful no matter how far we fall.”
And Mark Hall, lead singer for Casting Crowns, agrees on the power of God’s redemption. “Michael’s life is a beautiful picture of God’s forgiveness and restoration. He is a new creation. The old has passed away and all things are new. Michael has an amazing story to tell.”
The Prodigal Comes Home showcases such top songwriters as Neil Thrasher (Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney), Matthew West (Natalie Grant), Sam Mizell (Point of Grace, Avalon) and Phillip LaRue (Rachel Lampa, LaRue), to name a few. The first single, “The Only Thing Good In Me,” was written by Ronnie Freeman and Tony Wood. The song is currently going for adds at radio and the major radio syndicate, K-Love, has added the single out of the box. Media is also excited about the return of Michael English with Christian Retailing and CBA Retailers and Resources including reviews in their March issues.
English started his Christian music career over a decade ago and signed with his current label, Curb Records, in 2000. After years of struggling with addiction, God has brought English to a new place of honesty and hope, with a beautiful story of redemption. English has released three previous studio albums, along with a Greatest Hits CD and a recent Christmas project. The Prodigal Comes Home verifies that English’s vocals are as strong as ever and resonate with the vitality of his reclaimed faith and life. The new CD is being released in partnership with his book that came out in 2007, “The Prodigal Comes Home.” English lives in Nashville with his wife and two daughters.
English stays active on the road and in spring 2008 will join Avalon, Cadia, and the Daniel Doss Band on their “We Will Stand” tour. For updated information on English please visit www.michaelenglishmusic.com or www.curbrecords.com.
